Finished Reading Book # 21 for the year

Howdy
Last night I finished reading Fit to Die by J B Stanely,it is the 2nd book in the super club series. I really enjoyed the book and the mystery. here is a little about the book (from Barnes and Noble):
Synopsis
Welcome back to Quincy's Gap, Virginia, where James Henry and his dieting group contend with dangerous secrets, dark intrigue, and delicious praline sundaes. Six months after starting their low-carb diet, the Flab Five are feeling motivationally-challenged. A new ice cream shophas come to town, but so has the Witness to Fitness weight loss center, run by the fanatical Veronica Levitt. Maybe Veronica's "take-no-prisoners" approach is just what the group needs.
Between dieting, caring for his cranky father, and struggling with his growing affection for Lucy, James has his plate full. But when he and his fellow dieters poke around in an arson case that turns into a murder investigation, the Flab Five discover that they may have bitten off more than they can chew.
A cozy "village" mystery, Fit to Die is the second book in the warm and wonderful Supper Club Mystery series

Last night Todd stayed home from work,he was very sick and his blood sugar was low. I was kind of worried about him, but he seems to be doing much better today thank god.

The girls are just playing on the Xbox360, they are playing lego star wars, they are having fun and it is funny listening to them play.

Well 2 days until our trip to Texas, stil have a few things to do,but I sure I will get them all done at the last minute-lol. Well I am going to run for now the girls are asking for lunch. have a grea Wednesday !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Howdy Howdy
I can't believe that in just 5 days we will be heading towards Texas. The girls are really and excited and so am I. I have started packing the clothes and the girls are trying to decide what to take, I know Lizzie will be taking some books and her Ipod and Shelbie is taking some small toys and her ipod. There is no telling what else they will sneak into their bags-lol. I am taking some books and my knitting.

Speaking of knitting I finished my first afghan a couple of nights ago. I think it looks really nice I am really proud of myself for finishing it. I have 2 more that are a work in progress, I am so hoping I can get Lizzie's done by Aug. 20th and Shelbie's done by Christmas. It has been really had to work on Lizzie's now that school is out, so I work on it as much as I can when she goes to bed.

Not much else is going on today, just normal Sunday stuff. Have agreat day!!!!!!!!

Lazy Saturday

Wow it has almost been a month since my last post. A lot has been going on, Shelbie graduated from Pre-k and is now in kindergarten and is very excited about it. Plus Lizzie graduated 3rd grade and is now a 4th grader. Boy it is hard to believe in August that Lizzie will be 10 years old, where have the years gone. here is a video from Shelbie's graduation:

Todd and I have now been married for 9 years as of May 28th, we did not do much for our big day, Todd had to work, but that is okay. Right now Todd is at a golf tournament from PAM, at 4:30 his team was half way through. The tournament started at 1pm. He sounded like he was having fun. This is the first time in our a year that he has golfed, I think while the girls and i are in Texas without him he might get some golfing in.

I am still working on knitting the blankets I will post pictures later, as far as reading not so much, I just have not been in the mood to read, but i am sure when we are down in texas for a month I will get a lot of reading in.

Boy i sure have been having fun doing my beautiControl thing. I have had several spas with teachers from both girls schools and i am starting to make a little extra money which is always nice.

Well I am going to run for now, have a great day!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Mother's Day

HI HI
I hope everyone is having a great day. My day is going good so far, Todd is is at work, and the girls are playing. Todd left me a nice note on the computer this morning so when I got up I would see it. Plus a got a rose very pretty!!!

This past Friday was mom's day up at Lizzie's school. I had lunch with her then helped in her classroom a little. Lizzie made me a very pretty card. Then when we went to go get Shelbie, she gave me a picture frame she made with a picture of her that her teachers took. Plus Shelbie gave me a very nice peom with her hand prints around it. I really loved everything the girls made for me and I will treasure them always.

Not a lot is going on this coming week, I am just going to read, knit and do some cleaning and go through the girls old clothes. Bye Bye for now

It's May

Good Morning,

I can't believe it ia already May.This year is racing by. It is hard to believe that Lizzie and Shelbie will be getting out of school it 4 weeks. Shelbie has a Pre-k graduation on May 30th and Lizzie's award program is on June 4th.

I was actually able to find the yarn I needed to try and finish Lizzie's and my mom's afghans. I am almost done with my mom's. Plus i have been working on Todd's afghan. They are all turning out really nice.

We had Shelbie's parent teacher conference this past Friday. She is doing great and she is more then ready for kindergarten. Her teacher told us that Shelbie has been working on putting together a 63 piece puzzle. Her teacher said that for a Pre-ker that is great and Shelbie is the only one in Pre-k that can do it. Lizzie had a good week last week. They had a book fair up at her school and on Friday Lizzie got 4 books and she has just been reading away.

I think I only finished 1 book last month- very bad for me if I want to reach my goal of 125 books this year. I am sure I will read more books this month-I hope-lol.

well I guess I am going to run, happy reading and kniting!!!

Shelbie's Eye Doctor Appointment

Good Afternoon
This morning we took Shelbie to the eye doctor because she did not pass part of the vision screening at school. Shelbie did very well she only got upset when they put the drops in her eyes. Miss Shelbie is fair sighted with astigmatism. She has to wear class all day when at school, but if she is at home she only has to wear them to color, read, or when she is watching TV. Shelbie picked out these really pretty bluish/purple glasses and is excited about them. her glasses should be ready in about a week.

Not much else is going on I am just knitting(started on Todd's), while I try to find the other yarn I need(Having trouble finding the dye lots). Plus I have been doing a little reading. Well I guess I should run for now so we can go get Elizabeth from school. Have a great day!!!!!!!!!

It's Sunday and Todd is off !!!!!!!!!

HI HI
I am so excited that it is Sunday and Todd is off. It is really nice to have him home on a Sunday. Well, it is sunny and really nice outside,I think it is suppose to get up to around 78 today. The girls are doing good this morning, they are just watching some cartoons.

Yesterday I went to my BeautiControl class and had a blast.I learned a lot more about our skin care and spa products. Tonya(sis-in-law)took me to lunch yesterday and we had a good time.We ate at Ruby Tuesdays, really good food!! While I was at beauty class Todd took the girls to Chucky Cheese, then kite flying. He said they all had a good time- I am really glad. Yesterday was the first time in a very long time that I have been some where without the girls or Todd . It felt good to be Victoria for a little while instead of just Mom. But I was so happy to see the girls when I got home. They were so excited to tell me every thing they did and I could not stop smiling at them as they told me about their adventure with their Daddy.

Shelbie goes to the eye doctor tomorrow morning, she is a little excited but still a little unsure. Lizzie finished up her Benchmark testing last week and she is so glad it is over.

This past Friday I bought some more yarn, I could not find the yarn I needed for the 2 afghans I am working on, so I bought some other yarn for other afghans I will start after the first 2 afghans. I bought blue and silver for Todds and some yarn that red, orange, yellow, blue, green and purple for anafghan for Shelbie. Because I decided that the green and blue I am working on now will go to my mom as one of her birthday presents in July. I willpost pictures of the new yarn some time this week.

Well I am going to go for now so I can start the girls laundry. Happy Knitting and Happy Reading!!!!!

Knitting Progress

Howdy

Well it is Tuesday and the girls are at school. This week Elizabeth is taking her Benchmark test,I am sure she will do great( she usually scores above her grade). Shelbie is having a good week so far on May 2nd we have parent/teacher conferences, so she will be off from school that day.

Here are some updated pictures of the 2 afghans I am working on.I think on friday I am going to need to get more yarn for both afghans.
Plus I am going to to pick out some more yarn for some other afghans I am going to start. I think Iam starting to get addicted to knitting-lol.

I started reading Murder Runs in the Family by Anne George. It is really funny so far and I am looking forward to reading it. This is the 3rd book inthe series and the other 2 were funny and the mystery was just as great.

Well I am going to run for now, think I might take a little nap, I did not sleep to well last night. Happy reading and knitting.

Finshed book #1 for April

Hi Hi
I hope everyone has had a great weekend so far. Ours has been pretty good, it has been on the chilly side the past couple of days and now it looks like it could rain. The girls are doing good, Lizzie is just reading a harry potter book and Shelbie is watching Spongebob Squarepants. Todd is at work so the girls and I are just doing our normal Sunday stuff.

I actually finished a book last night. I finished Two Down by nero Blanc. Here is a little aboout the book(got from amazon)
The case of two women lost at sea off Nantucket interferes with the burgeoning romance of crossword puzzle editor Belle Graham and her beau, PI Rosco Polycrates, in this second engaging crossword mystery from Blanc (The Crossword Murder). A wealthy investment banker, Tom Pepper, calls in Rosco after Newcastle, Mass., fishermen tow into the harbor the charred hulk of the sailboat rented by Tom's wife, Genie, and her famous actress friend, Jamaica Nevisson. The distraught Tom is convinced that the man who rented Genie the sailboat was negligent. While Rosco investigates the rental agent and the Coast Guard searches for the women, Belle begins to receive ominous crossword puzzles. The first one insinuates through pointed clues that something dire has happened to Jamaica. Rosco thinks Belle is imagining links to his case, until he finds human blood in the fishermen's boat. Then the missing women's inflatable life raft surfaces on a remote beach, well above the tide line and with a large gash in its side. Rosco fears for Belle's safety, since later puzzles not only suggest their constructor is watching both of them closely but contain veiled personal threats. Clever, charming Belle and meticulous, plodding Rosco have to hustle if they're to prevent a missing persons investigation from turning into a homicide case.

I really enjoyed the book, I have the 3rd one in the series sitting on my bookcase. I am not sure what I will read next I have about 6 or 7 books on my list. I think it either be an Anne George or Monica Ferris book.

I am still knitting away, I think on friday I will have to get some more yarn for both Afghans, plus pick up so other colors so I can start on a couple more afghans. I have not taken new pictures of the the two I am doing now, but i hope to tonight so I can post them this week.

Well I am going to run happy reading and knitting!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Movie Day

Good Evening
I hope everyone has been having a good week so far. Ours has been really good, today i went with Shelbie's Pre-K class and the rest of the school districts Pre-k classes to the movies. We saw Horten Hears a Who. It was a really cute and funny movie. I can honestly saw all the kids were very good and there was no problems. It was Shelbie's first time to the movies and she had a blast.

I am almost done reading Two down I have about 50 pages left. I gave of on confessions of a shopaholic, I could just not get into. It started off fine then i got bored with it.

Lizzie's blanket is really starting to take shape and i love the pattern the yarn is making.I will post pictures of both blankets tomorrow.

Lizzie has a dentist appointment in the morning to get her teeth clean and to check and see if it is time to take out her spacers. I hope the spacers come out soon, because she is starting to complain that the bottom one is hurting her a lot, so we shall see.

I am going to run for now so I can get some coffee and knit a little bit. Have a great evening!!!!!!!!!!!

Rainy Day

HI HI
I hope everyone is having a great Thursday. Today has been good so far, a little rainy this morning but I will take the rain for my flowers. I registered Shelbie for kindergarten this morning and she is excited. She wants to go to big sissy's school now. But I told that she still has to go to Pre-K at Owl Creek. She was okay I love my teachers there-lol. Lizzie is the good apple for her class this week, that really made her day. This is the first time this year that she was the good apple.

Not much else is going on. I am just going to work on knitting and do some cleaning. Todd is off today so the girls are excited. They miss their daddy when he is at work, and everyday they ask does daddy work today. I think they miss his cooking-lol, I am not the best cook, but I try-lol.

Got to run for now my dryer just beeped, so it is off to fold some towels. Happy reading and knitting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy April

Good morning

I hope everyone is having a great day. We had some nasty storms yesterday afternoon, thank goodness it waited until after we picked the girls up from school. Sheblie is doing great, she has no more headaches and is back to her old self. Lizzie has a good week so far, no one has bothered her and she is really enjoying going to the library in the mornings before school.

As you can see I have been knitting up a storm. I am working hard on these blankets, the Green/blue one is for Shelbie and the purple/pink one is for Lizzie. I have been getting some reading in when my hands start to hurt.

Right now I am reading Two down by Nero Blanc and Confessions of a shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella. Both books are good and I am enjoying them.

This week is kind of a busy week for us. Tomorrow Shelbie has her spring pictures at school. Then on Thursday we register Shelbie for kindergarten at Lizzie school. Plus Friday is parent/teacher conferences at Lizzie school. Both girls are off Friday and neither one of them are

Finsihed Book # 3 for March

HI Hi
I finished reading Nineteen Minutes By Jodi Picoult on 3-27-08. It was a really good and it had a twist at the end I was not excepting but it was an ending that gave insight to Josie and Peter.

Well yesterday was not a great day, we had to take Shelbie to the ER because at school she a little boy banged heads really hard. SHE got sick and could not stay awake. Shelbie has a concussion. She is doing a little better today, she said that she just has a really really headache and she just wants to play with her big sister. We are making just sit or lay down.

Lizzie is doing good, she got to go to work with her Aunt Ton Ton yesterday while we at the ER with Shelbie. Lizzie likes to go to work with her aunt because Tonya has a TV in her office and Tonya lets her eat candy and have a soda and she really likes spending time with her aunt. This week Lizzie won a gift card to Barnes and Noble for winning A Read Thon at her school. She ordered 5 books(4 Nancy Drew and the new Magic Tree House).

This coming Friday both girls are off from school for parent teacher conferences. Plus this Wednesday Shelbie has her spring pictures and class picture, she is excited about this even though is has a little red spot on her forehead.

I am still working on both blankets and they sure are coming along. I can't wait to finish one and see the finished product-lol. I am not sure what book I am going to read next will have to look at my list.

I guess I am going to run for now, have a great weekend and as always happy reading!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think I am going to get many books read this month. I am hoping to get Nineteen Minutes done by the end of this month. I have just been knitting a lot and not reading as much,I feel kind of guilt for not reading a lot like I have been. But I am still working on my goal of 125 books read this year, so we shall see.

I will go for now so I can cook dinner and then work on some more laundry.

My thoughts so far on Nineteen Minutes

Happy Sunday
I am about half way through Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult. I love the way she writes her books and takes things that have happen in real life and writes a great story. This book at times is a little hard for me to read because my 9 year old daughter has been picked on all this year, plus been picked on in past years. But see unlike Peter who really does not tell his parents, Elizabeth tells us about what is happening to her. Trust me my husband and I are up at the school in a heart beat. I can't wait to see what kind of twist is in store for me at the end of the book. I have read serval other books by Jodi Picoult and there is always a twist at the end that just blows me away.

Well the girls are on spring break starting tomorrow. So I get to sleep in a little(I hope-lol). Yesterday I became a BeautiControl seller (thanks Tonya and Molli). The skin care and makeup is all spa quality and I love the products.

I guess I should run for this post have a great day and happy reading!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2nd Book For March

Howdy Howdy
Well on Wednesday I finished my second book for March, it was called One Coffee With by Margaret Maron. It is the first book in the series and i really enjoyed it, i was not able to figure out the murderer. Here is a little about the book(from Barnes and Noble)
Synopsis
A new series featuring NYPD homicide detective Sigrid Harald There was more than coffee in Professor Quinn's morning coffee. Someone in the art department office had slipped in a spoonful of poison. Among the suspects are a young secretary, an enraged Hungarian maintenance man, and a colleague who had an affair with Quin's wife. NYPD detective Sigrid Harold is called in to find the killer with an artistic temperament and an aptitude for death.

I like Sigrid I just think she is a little hard on herself when it comes to her looks. This was a light, cozy mystery and i will be looking for the rst of the series.

I am now reading Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult and I am enjoying the book, plus I am reading Two Down by Nero Blanc. Happy Reading!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finished 1st book of March # 17 for the year

Howdy
I just finished reading A Mournful Teddy by John J Lamb. It was a great book and had some funny moments in it. What I liked about the book was that it did not give to many details on making stuffed teddy bears, in my opinion just the right amount. I thought i had the killer figured out but I was wrong and surprised. I have the second book in the series and i can't wait to see what happens at the next teddy bear convention. Happy Reading!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sunday, March 2, 2008

Finished book # 6 for February

Howdy
Well last night i finished reading Six Strokes Under by Roberta Isleib. It was a really good book and i am going to try to find the rest in series. It was a light and easy read. Here is what the book is about(from Barnes and Noble)
Synopsis
Cassandra Burdette used to carry clubs on the PGA tour-now she's swinging them at the Qualifying School for the LPGA Tour. The competition is fierce, but the standout so far is Kaitlin Rupert, whose talent and beauty are eclipsed only by her attitude. Though Kaitlin has a deeply troubled past and a very messy, very public family scandal, any sympathy from other players has been used up by her hostile personality. But it's still a shock when Kaitlin's psychiatrist is found brutally murdered-and even more of a shock when the police look at Cassie as a prime suspect. Now, Cassie must avoid all the hazards as she tries to uncover who delivered the fatal stroke-if the killer doesn't tee her up first.

On a scale of Athrough F i give this book an A. I am now reading Death on Demand by Carolyn G Hart this is the first book in the series, plus I am still reading the Mournful Teddy by John J Lamb. Well I hope everyone has a great Sunday I am off to do laundry and to do some reading.
