5th grade track meet and Naturals game!!!

we had fun the past few days!! This past Friday was the 5th grade track meet at the high school. It was great and everyone did a wonderful job. It was also bittersweet because this was Lizzie's last track meet as a Hornet. Lizzie was excited because she got to see Mr. Colbert who use to be our principal now he is the superintendent for elementary schools in our district. Okay today we had a blast at the naturals baseball game- it was a fundraiser the school district did.The girls got a little sunburned but they had so much fun.

Happy Mother's day

Happy Mother's day to all the moms. I hope today is filled love and happiness!! It was nice to wake up to breakfast already cooked and waiting for me, thanks to my wonderful hubby and my 2 sweet sweet girls. I love all the wonderful things that I was blessed to receive today, but the best gift was the girls giving me big hugs and kisses and telling me that they loved me so much.I treasure each and every hug and kiss that they give me and i hold them in a special place in heart.

Lizzie's Last Rise and Shine as a Hornet

Today the honor choir at Holcomb did the rise and shine program. It was a great performance, but also bitter sweet. As I sat there and watched, the only thought that keep coming to me was that this is Lizzie last rise and shine as a hornet. Boy oh boy where have the 6 years gone? I actually got teary eyed as I sat there and thought back to the very first day Lizzie walked in to Holcomb to start kindergarten. Through the years Lizzie has had some ups and downs, but the teachers that have touched her heart will never be far from her thoughts as she starts a new journey in middle school. Lizzie I am proud of the person you are and never change the way you care about people and always be true to yourself as you start your next journey this coming school year in middle school- you are so loved!!!

Parent should be Parents

I think parents need to start parenting their kids instead of not really caring what their kids are doing. I mean now away days kids say and do what they want. God forbid they are actually taught right from wrong. I mean when a 5th grader does rabbit ears behind someones head and another student tells her that it means that she want to go to bed with that person- what the hell. If i would have said something like that mom and dad would have been all over me and the school would have sent me home. But now a days parents don't care and the school does not care, sending a note home to a parent about what is said is not good enough in my opinion. It does no good in most cases. Todd and I try every hard to teach both girls right from wrong, they know what is excepted of them and when they do something that is not right they get in trouble. Both our girls are very honest and always tells us the truth whether it is good or bad. I am so thankful for that. Parents, parent and actually take notice on what your kids are doing and who they are hanging out with.

Another rainy weekend

Okay I really think someone does not want us to hiking or camping. Every weekend so far since it has warmed it has rained. I really want to go hiking and camping with hubby and the girls. The girls are like mom make it be sunny outside and no rain so we can go hiking. Hoping this coming weekend it will be nice so we can at least do a little hiking.

It is so hard to believe that in 26 days Todd and I will be married 11 years gosh where has the time gone. I love Todd more and more everyday, I know we have our up and downs but the ups always out way the downs and i am so thankful everyday that I have Todd and the girls.

Morning Run &Knitting

This week is the 1st graders week to go to the gym in the morning before class starts and jog or walk laps. Well today I jogged with Shelbie and I really enjoyed jogging with her. I do believe she is going to be a runner, she loves to jog with me and was so excited that i joined her this morning. I am glad the kids get a chance to do this.

Well today i actually did some knitting on Shelbie's afghan. It is coming a long a little slower then I would like, but that is okay. I have a little bit more black to knit then I will finish up with orange like I started with. Shelbie wanted a blanket that was made of her school colors. After I finish Shelbie's afghan I am going to make me an afghan then work on another one for Lizzie using her school colors for the middle school she will be going to next year. I am going to make the girls lots of afghans so one day when they are all grown and on their own they can pull out a blanket and think back to the school that the colors stand for and know that I knitted each afghan with love!!!

Recess fun!!!

This past week was benchmark testing week for grades 3rd-5th graders. I know it is a long hard week for both the teachers and the students, but I do believe it went well. The only sign that it was testing week for Lizzie on her arms. Lizzie picks on herself subconsciously until she bleeds when she lets her Ocd get the best of her. This past week I helped out during recess when the first graders went outside. I had a blast playing with all the kids, plus I helped our wonderful art teacher finish up the Art to Remember fundraiser.

Why Do People Treat Others Wrongly

Okay I am just going to say it.... Some people are just rude. I just not understand it,that when I do something out of the kindness of my heart to help some one they get mad and act like a child. I mean what happened was not my fault, come on when you ring someones doorbell 6 times and knock really hard on their door about 6 times and wait for 10 minutes. What am I suppose to do stand outside their door all day. I am sorry but I had things to do. Now this person is mad at me because she had to find another way to pick up her kids. See we use this persons mom's van when when have to pick up this persons 2 kids plus our 2 girls. I am sorry but we can not fit all 4 kids in our car. We have been doing this for over a month to help this person out, because we know how hard things can be. well I am sorry no more I am tired up helping people and then they get mad at me and not respond to any of my emails or any thing. I am a good person and I go out of my way to help people, but i am so so tired of getting treated like I am worthless and because I am not.

A great day yesterday

Well the Outstanding Volunteer banquet was last night and it was really great!!! Lizzie was excited because she got to see Mr.Colbert and talk to him for a few minutes. I had to laugh when Mr. Colbert told Lizzie that she was almost as tall as him and she just says I know, I just keep growing-lol. The Fayetteville High School Encore Choir preformed while we were eating wonderful food from Penguin Ed's. Lizzie and Shelbie both have their sights on being in the Fayetteville High School encore Choir.

I feel so blessed to have gotten this award and i will truly treasure it forever. Both girls have already told me that they hope I will get it again next year-lol. Shelbie was so proud of that this morning the first thing she did was tell her teacher Mr. Edwards that her mommy got an award for being such a great and cool volunteer, I had to laugh. I love helping and I plan on volunteering as much as I can. I just have to figure out how I am going to volunteer at 2 schools next year.Holcomb has the teachers and staff it is always a pleasure to help.

A Good Day

Good evening, I sure do hope everyone is having a great evening. The girls had a great day in school, Lizzie got the the good apple award for being trustworthy, she was so excited and I feel bad because I did not stay for the rise and shine program, to see her get it. Today i helped Mrs. Foster with kindergarten enrollment, I was there until a little before 6 this evening. I really enjoyed helping plus I was running messages to teachers regarding parent/teacher conferences. We have both girls conferences tomorrow morning. I do believe both will go well. The girls are going to stay with hubby's parents while we are at the meetings.

I can't believe this Sunday is Easter, we are going to color eggs Saturday night, so the Easter bunny can do his thing. And yes we even hide an egg or two for our little chihuahua Luke.He just loves to roll them between his paws then he barks at them, it is funny to watch.

Not much else is going on right at the moment, we are just watching the Mav's game.

A BEAUTIFUL DAY

What a beautiful day today turned out to be!!! It is believe that a week ago there was a foot of snow on the grown. Today we took the girls to Prairie Grove Battlefield. It was really neat and the girls had fun looking at all the old builds.Todd was in his element he just loves civil war stuff. Todd's Parents joined us and then treated us to lunch. We plan on going back out there again sometime!!!

Well Monday the girls go back to school, the girls I do believe they had a good spring break. I really enjoyed having them home. It will be strange not having then at home. The other day I got a letter in the from the school district letting me know that I am getting an award for being an outstanding volunteer at Holcomb. I will so honored and blessed. I love helping up at the school, Holcomb has some of the best teachers and staff and it is always nice to help where I can!!!

Friday and the Lady U of A golfers

Shlebie and Rachel a U of A lady Golfer!!!
Well it is finally Friday and the girls are on spring break next week!!!! The girls had a great day in school, A lady from the ASPCA came and talked to the 5th graders about what animal shelters do and they got an orange bracelet. I love the ASPCA and yes our Luke comes from an animal shelter and his is one of the best dogs. Then this afternoon some of the lady golfers from the U of A came up to Holcomb!!! They played with the 1st graders and boy oh boy the kids loved it!!!

For some reason this week has gone by slow I thought Friday would never get here. I hope spring break does not fly by, I want the girls to have fun and just enjoy the week off from school.

I can not believe that Saturday into Sunday we are suppose to get 1 to 3 inches of snow. Okay I love snow but come on it is almost April, I am ready for the warm temps.

Sunday Sunday

Today has been a very lazy day all around. I had planned on getting a lot done but i just could not find the energy to anything. I am usually not a lazy person but I guess every once in awhile it is okay to be lazy. The girls are getting everything ready for school tomorrow, I am wondering our this whole hour ahead is going to play out tonight and in the morning. So far it has no big deal but we see.

Todd left a little bit ago to go to work, I sure hope he has a great night. Rumor has it that one of the 3rd shift supervisors is going to days. The next person to get that spot is Todd but who knows. P.A.M. does things backwards.Actually Todd should have had that spot long time ago, but he has kept his mouth shut and done his job and others jobs to the best of his ability. The only thing that would suck about Todd getting the position is that he would be working at the end of the week. The girls were not to thrilled.

I am excited to watch the first episode of The Pacific tonight!!! I just loved Band of Brothers and I sure hope this is just as good. I think I will do some knitting as I am watching it.

The weekend so far

So far the weekend is going well. I am still a little under the weather, but I think I am on the other side of the cold now. Today I have just been reading House Rules by Jodi Picoult. It is a great book so far. Plus I have been knitting on an afghan that is black and orange(Holcomb school colors), not sure if it will to Lizzie or Shelbie.

Todd cooked a great dinner, he smoked a pork sirloin roast and it turned out great.Todd is such a great cook, thank good because I suck at cooking. Right Todd and the girls are playing on the xbox360 for a little while.

Well the girls have one more week before spring break!!! Our spring break is late this year, but I guess it works out. This last week Lizzie had a great week in school and for her this is wonderful news because she has been getting in trouble a lot with her teacher. It is hard for Lizzie because her teacher does not fully understand Lizzie's Ocd and it has caused Lizzie a lot of anxiety which has caused her to start picking on herself again. I think it would help if at least her teacher would praise Lizzie for a good day instead of Lizzie only getting negative feedback. Lizzie is a great student and so is Miss Shelbie. Shelbie rocks in math and has really is doing great in reading(she is now on level 15 which is a good thing).

I am going to run so I can get a fresh cup of coffee and get back to my knitting.

Big Red at rise and Shine program

Hi hi this morning the 1st graders did the rise and shine program- they rocked but the biggest hit was Big Red from the U of A. All the students just loved seeing him, we should have called the hogs-lol. The new character trait word for this month is trustworthiness, and I know as a parent it is one of the things we really try to make sure our girls understand this.

I did get the Jodi Picoult book called House Rules and I so can't wait to start it(hopefully this weekend). Not much else is going on today just the usual, laundry and more laundry. I did not get any running in this morning but I am sure I will tomorrow .

Smencils Smencils

I can honestly say that Mrs. Aldama had a great idea in order to raise money for some new music things. She was selling these pencils that are scented and they were such a big hit. We sold out of them this morning and many students were not able to get more today. But Mrs. Aldama is ordering more and I am going to help her sell them. i think next year the 4th grade should sell the pencils instead of the popcorn they sell to raise money for their hikes.

Yesterday I went up to the school to help make copies for Shelbie's teacher then I helped the 1st grade teachers get the 1st graders ready for their little morning program tomorrow. I am going up there again this afternoon to help. I really enjoy volunteering up at the girls school.

I still have not finished reading Guilty Pleasures, but I am hoping today. Todd and I are going to try to rearrange the living room and start going through some stuff we no longer need.

The girls are doing good, they both have spelling tests tomorrow so we will spend a good part of tonight helping the girls study for that.Lizzie has really been having a good week this week!!!!!

Way to long Since my last post

okay Okay it has been way to long since my last post. I promise to do better!!! I have been having a good week so far, last week was not so hot but that is okay. I have been reading Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton, so far I am enjoying and glad I found another vampire series to read. I have also been doing a lot of knitting, I finished a reading shawl for my mother in law and now I am working on a afghan in Holcomb colors for school.

Both girls are doing good in school, there has been a couple of issues regarding Lizzie and her teacher, but I think it is because her teacher does not understand Lizzie's OCD. Today the girls bought some smencils to help the music class get some new things. i even got 2 that are scented watermelon.

Well Spring Break is coming up and we are all excited because that means we can get a lot of hiking in!!!! I love hiking and it great exercise and just getting outside and spending time with hubby and the girls is the best part.

Well i hate to run but I have to help the girls with some homework.
